Slovenia, Guest of Honour pavilion for Bologna Children’s Book Fair was designed by Sara&Sara. Part of the exhibition space was inspired by the design of a church nave. It was executed in the form of a baldachin, showcasing Slovenian illustrators with a collage of illustrations and original illustrations. The other part of the exhibition was designed as a serene space for reading picture books and for interactions between illustrators and publishers.

For this extraordinary installation many cutting edge technologies and materials were used. Special attention was given to the appropriate lighting of the space and the exhibited books. In-house developed fabric tensioning system was specifically adapted to the unique requirements of the baldachin.
